What is JustShowMe?
JustShowMe is a free screen annotation, capture, and recording tool. It runs as a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, and as a desktop overlay app for Windows. One click opens a floating toolbar that lets you draw, highlight, add arrows and numbered steps, blur sensitive information, and use it as an on-screen sketchpad on top of any webpage or application.
When you're done, capture a full-page screenshot or record the tab as video — everything is processed locally on your device and saved straight to your machine. There's no account, no tracking, and no server of ours in the middle. When you do want to share, connect Notion, Linear, or Slack and the image goes straight from your device to your own workspace — Loom's share convenience, without Loom's servers ever seeing your data. JustShowMe is built for QA testers, technical writers, freelancers, educators, and anyone who would rather show someone than explain in paragraphs.

Does JustShowMe upload my screenshots or recordings?
By default, no — nothing is uploaded. JustShowMe has no servers that receive your content, no analytics, and no tracking, and your captures save straight to your device. The one exception is opt-in sharing: if you connect Notion, Linear, or Slack, a capture you choose to share goes directly from your device to your own workspace on that service. It never passes through a JustShowMe server, because there isn't one. Local save and clipboard stay the default.
Can I share captures to Notion, Linear, or Slack?
Yes, and it's optional — off by default. Connect your own Notion, Linear, or Slack account and JustShowMe can send a screenshot or GIF straight there. The upload goes directly from your device to your workspace using your own account; it never routes through a JustShowMe server, because we don't have one. Your connection tokens are stored locally, encrypted, and you can disconnect any time. If you never connect a service, nothing ever leaves your device.
