A11yForge — WCAG Testing Workspace Now Live

A11yForge is now live at a11yforge.robn.studio.

It's a local WCAG Level A & AA testing workspace for engineers — the tool I kept wishing for while doing accessibility audits by hand. Set a site up once, assess it against a WCAG target, work the criteria grouped by how you actually test, and export a VPAT/ACR at the end. Everything stays in your browser; there's no account and no backend.

What you can do today

• Keep a portfolio of sites and re-assess each one over time, with a full assessment history
• Work the 56 WCAG 2.1/2.2 Level A & AA criteria grouped by method — automated, keyboard, screen reader, visual, media, pointer
• Let axe-core pre-grade the automatable criteria — it never claims "Supports" for anything it didn't actually check
• Attach remarks, evidence and screenshots to every finding, then sign off a dated VPAT that locks against later edits
• Export as the official ITI VPAT® 2.5, a Section 508, or an EN 301 549 (EU) edition — printable HTML or an editable Word document
• Chain products into a customer journey and read the combined conformance across every step

A11yForge speeds up the audit — it doesn't replace it. Automated checks only cover a slice of the criteria, so a real VPAT still needs manual testing and human judgement. It's an aid built from real audit work, not a compliance guarantee.
